CR Rousseau's vibrant abstracts draw inspiration from fashion, the human form and life in the West Coast. Her life around water in the Pacific Northwest, in Monterey and Carmel-by-the-sea gives her work a playful spirit and vibrant yet classic color palette.
Rousseau pays acute attention to the energy of culture and the emotion of color, her works are layered and multi-faceted compositions. "I'm multi-lingual in my visual and conceptual vocabulary which emerged through an ever-evolving practice - I love focusing on points between abstract, impressionist and expressionist styles. Since I was a child, I've been drawn exploring new ideas and techniques” said Rousseau. Framing her practice in "bodies of work" gives the artist space to evolve her style through play.
Based on Bainbridge Island, she exhibits in New York and California. Her work can be found in art fairs and private collections worldwide. To inquire about a painting or a commission, please contact the studio.
